"This House Screams of Emptiness"
Narrator: Julien Arroyo
PRESENT DAY
Now it's over. Mom and dad went their separate ways. Brother moved for some business out of state. I can't tell you when I knew that this all would end. I guess I knew that their wounds could never mend. This empty house with no décor, I can't live here anymore. No longer do we laugh and cry. We just drift from day to night. If I could summon a scream, this house would not feel so empty. Now it's over. I reflect on our better days. Were they as good as my memory would say? I can't tell you if what they had was just a lie; but if it was, then they played their part just fine (until they couldn't anymore).
The lead singer of punk band Camp Cope ventures into romantic synth-pop territory, tempering slick arrangements with bare sentiment.
