“The Only Way Out I: Friday Night Lights”
Narrator: Shane Dreyer (The Athlete)
PRESENT DAY
Your average Friday night. On our hands is a fight. We’re fighting for a future away from here. I’m working like a slave. I’m counting down the days where I can live a life without endless fear. I always run like I’m running away. I’m eager for the day I will be a different man. I have so much to say, and I have a master plan. I’ll play on greener pastures now.
My new average Friday night. There are so many lights and I can’t keep the vices away from me. A far cry from my life of organized high school fights. I will never again taste monotony. Listen to my master plan. I’ll play this game, I’ll acquire fame and my life will never be the same. I’ll do my part. I’ll tear them apart. I’ll leave this world behind for better days. If I want to escape, the time is now. “Root for the home team!”
The lead singer of punk band Camp Cope ventures into romantic synth-pop territory, tempering slick arrangements with bare sentiment.
