PRESENT DAY

I see the red and blue lights. I wonder if I'll escape this one with my life, or is it my time to die? I wonder if I should run? If I stay and plead my case will they say that I posses a gun? Will they rob me of life?

I see the red and blue lights. I wonder if I'll need to push and fight, will they kill me on sight? My hands are on "ten and two". I force a fake smile, say "how do you do?" and I... I try not to cry.

I see the red and blue lights. My heart beats so fast like a cannon or crash unforeseen. Can they hear my heartbeat? There's so much sweat on my brow. Should I wipe it away, will that provoke the sound of the end of my life?

Death takes on a false protective face. It cuts us down with disregard and not a shred of shame. Could this be my time? Will my corpse descend tonight? Will you remember my name?
