“Give Me Liberty, or Give Me Death”
Narrator: James Langston (The Prisoner)
FIVE YEARS AGO
The smoke has cleared, the fire is out, the storm is over… but I am bedridden with doubt. How many times is this now? Do we need to be “that house”? The neighbors constantly alerted to our voices much too loud. I’m hitting the road. I will find a better place. There’s nowhere for you to go. Your time is up. Enjoy your stay. I’m sorry to say I’m not sorry at all. I caught your hand too many times, now I have to let you fall. I’ll miss my kids, but it’s for the best. I can’t allow them to grow up in a house of such unrest. I’ll be crystal clear, there’s no home for me here. You’ve pushed much to far. My heart won’t last another year. It’s the same day over and over again. This heartless cycle has come to an end at my hand. I’ll end the constant storm.
The lead singer of punk band Camp Cope ventures into romantic synth-pop territory, tempering slick arrangements with bare sentiment.
